13.41 best time I could get for the day 60ft 1.99 cant figure out what to lauch at , or tire pressure 20psi for air pressure 14,8 MT slicks and lauching at 3000rpm I thought Iwould 60ft of 1.8 that must be ona perfect day lauching and tire psi advice wanted

I launch at 3000 on street tires, you should be able to launch higher than that on Slicks.

I got a question I keep forgeting to ask that relates to this.

Checking tire pressure,

Slicks -- most likely you're checking the first pressure cold and going from there

Street tires -- more likely, unless you've let it sit for a couple hours are being adjusted from a warmed tire.

so, when someone says (for instance) slicks are running best at about 20psi -- that's after they've run them down the track and checked the pressure again??

I use 15x8 slicks, but I launch between 7000-8000 and slip the clutch out... the slicks spin a little, but it shoots off the line, I pull a 1.7 60 ft. like that...

I run my pressures at 13 in the left and 12 in the right... I experiment with diferent pressures a lot, I may change a 1 or 2 psi each run, depending on how they are hooing...

I never run more than 15 psi... 20 psi is way to high for a slick... dont be afraid to run them flat, that is what they are designed for... some of the pro's run less than 5 psi... and luckily in a fwd car it really isnt hard to control even at 120mph... I always run about 1 psi less in the right tire, because for some strange reason it pulls hard left if I dont, and I have to fight it the whole way down, that isnt good for et's!
